About Our Firm

We are a local certified public accounting firm located in Stevensville, Michigan and employ a professional and support staff of ten employees. The firm’s professionals provide a broad range of services including tax, accounting, and management consulting to businesses and individuals throughout southwestern Michigan.  Our firm has experience and extensive expertise in the construction, physician/dental practice, property management and manufacturing industries.

We are committed to providing quality service to our clients.  Stephen Ross & Company participates in the AICPAs Peer Review Program.  In addition to the peer review program, our firm’s professional staff maintains continuing education requirements and are members of various professional accounting organizations.

Our mission is to bring added value to our clients when providing standard tax and accounting services.   We accomplish this by building relationships with our clients and providing awareness of how their financial information can be used in managing their business and personal lives.  A tax return or financial statement is only a small part of what we provide to our clients.

Our Team

STEPHEN ROSS, CPA

President

Steve serves as the firm’s president. He has over 34 years of experience in the public accounting industry, specializing in tax and assurance services to closely held businesses in the construction, personal service and manufacturing industries. In addition to serving our commercial clients, Steve also works with non-profit & governmental entities as well as individual & fiduciary clients.

Born and raised in St. Joseph, Steve enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, golfing and landscaping his yard.

PATRICK NELSON, CPA

Principal

Patrick serves as a principal in the firm. He has over 20 years of experience in the public accounting industry, specializing in tax and assurance services to closely held businesses in the rental real estate & property management, manufacturing and physician/dental practice industries. In addition to serving our commercial clients, Patrick also assists the firm’s individual and fiduciary clients with tax planning and preparation.

When not working with clients Patrick spends his free time sailing on Lake Michigan. He is an avid sailor participating in the weekly yacht club races and the annual Chicago - Mac race.

Jeff is a principal in the firm. Jeff has over 30 years of experience in public accounting, specializing in tax preparation and assurance services to closely held businesses in the medical service and manufacturing industries. In addition to serving commercial clients, Jeff also assists our individual clients with tax planning and preparation.

When Jeff is not working in the office he enjoys spending time with his family, traveling and volunteering for youth sports organizations.
